Reviews, with context

First-episode impressions · 7 sampled opinions, not a site-wide consensus.

Appreciated

Some selected viewers enjoy the female character designs and the nostalgic feel of classic hot-blooded shonen and mecha anime. The opening and ending songs also receive individual praise.

Reservations

Opposing views focus on awkward cel-shaded 3D visuals, a thinly characterized male lead, and rough storytelling. The sample also disagrees on the effectiveness of the songs and retro conventions. These responses reflect only how successfully the premiere establishes its style.
